Warm white, without a hard vein
Afghan White reads warmer than Ziarat White. Its ground is milkier and its grey movement sits as soft clouding through the face rather than as separate lines. From a distance the surface holds together as a pale field, which is the useful quality when the stone has to cover a large floor or wall without becoming the only thing in the room.
The amount of clouding changes across a block. Approve the current lot rather than a generic sample, review photographs of enough slabs to see the full tonal range and dry lay the cut pieces before fixing.

Floors, walls and cut pieces
Afghan White suits internal floors, stair treads, bathroom walls, vanity tops and pale wall cladding where a warm white surface is needed without a strong directional figure. Slab keeps the clouding continuous across a counter or feature wall. Tile makes the same lot repeatable across a floor and easier to replace later.
A straight grid keeps the field calm. More active laying patterns make the tonal variation easier to see, so the whole run should be set out together before installation.

Finish for brightness, wear and grip
Polishing gives Afghan White its brightest ground and strongest reflection. It suits walls, counters and dry internal floors. Honing removes the gloss and softens the clouding, which makes fine wear less visible on a circulation floor.
Bush hammered, antique, flamed, acid and saw cut finishes introduce texture for steps, thresholds and exposed work. Approve the proposed treatment on the actual lot because the warm ground changes as the face is opened. Marble is calcareous in every finish, so neutral cleaners are required and acidic spills can etch it.

- Yes. Slabs preserve the clouded field across vanities, counters and feature walls. Tiles cut the same selected lot into repeating modules for floors, stairs and wall cladding. Availability and usable dimensions depend on the current lot.
- Which Afghan White finish belongs on a floor?
