Botticino Cream marble slabs and tiles

Botticino Cream has an even cream ground, faint darker flecking and short broken veins. AFINISHES supplies it in slab and tile, then cuts, finishes and edges the selected lot at its Karachi works to the dimensions on your drawing.

01 Finish register

Finishes for Botticino Cream marble

Polishing deepens the cream ground, while honing, acid finishing and saw cutting progressively reduce reflection and introduce texture. Approve the finish on the selected lot before cutting begins.

The cream tone and short vein density vary between blocks. Finish samples and photographs should come from the lot offered for the project, not from a different Botticino Cream delivery.

A quiet cream field

Botticino Cream is the quiet marble in the regular supply list. The ground stays pale and even, while faint taupe flecks and short broken veins give the face enough movement to read as stone without turning the whole surface into a directional pattern.

That restraint makes lot selection more important, not less. One unusually pale sample does not describe a full block. Review photographs of the open slabs, approve the actual lot and dry lay the cut pieces before fixing so any tonal change is distributed through the room rather than collected in one bay.

Floors, walls, stairs and counters

The low contrast ground works across large internal floors, entrance halls, circulation spaces, stair treads and wall cladding because the joints and the stone do not compete for attention. Slab keeps the field continuous across a vanity, reception front or counter. Tile turns the same selected lot into a repeatable module for floors and walls.

Botticino Cream was used on the Naya Nazimabad Mosque, where a quiet stone was needed across a large exterior elevation. For external work, the fixing detail, thickness, edge profile and finish have to be set against exposure before the cutting schedule is released.

Choose the finish for the use

Polishing deepens the cream ground and gives the stone a reflective face. Honing removes the gloss, lifts the tone slightly and hides fine wear more easily, which makes it the usual starting point for a busy internal floor.

An acid finish etches the face into a low-reflection texture. Saw cut leaves the direct linear trace of the blade. Both need to be approved on the selected lot because surface treatment changes how strongly the flecking and short veins read. Marble remains calcareous in every finish, so neutral cleaners are required and acidic spills can etch the face.

Selected, cut and edged in Karachi

AFINISHES supplies Botticino Cream from the stone trade and carries out the sawing, calibration, finishing and edge work at its Karachi works. Send the setting out drawing with the required slab or tile sizes, thickness, finish and edge profiles so the cutting schedule can be checked against the selected lot.

Order the full area in one lot and include attic stock for future repairs. A later block can carry the same variety name without repeating the exact cream tone and vein density of the first delivery.

06 Questions

What a specifier asks about this material

Is Botticino Cream available as both slab and tile?
Yes. Slabs keep the cream field continuous across counters, vanities and feature walls. Tiles cut the same selected lot into repeating modules for floors, stairs and wall cladding. Send the required dimensions with the enquiry so the available lot can be checked against the cutting schedule.
Which finish should I specify for a Botticino Cream floor?
Start with honed for a busy internal floor because the matte face hides fine wear and gives more grip than a polish. Use polished where reflection is wanted and the floor stays dry. Acid or saw cut finishes should be sampled for exposed or more textured work.
Will every Botticino Cream delivery match?
No. The cream ground and vein density vary between blocks and within a block. Approve the current lot, order the full area together, take attic stock at the same time and dry lay the pieces before fixing.
Can AFINISHES cut Botticino Cream to a drawing?
Yes. AFINISHES supplies the marble, then saws, calibrates, finishes and edges it at the Karachi works. Send the setting out drawing, thickness, finish, edge profile and quantities with the sample request.
