Sulafah
Polished terrazzo for the reception counter at Sulafah, inside Dolmen Mall Clifton. A counter in a mall unit is leaned on, wiped down and lit hard from above through every trading hour, so the terrazzo was poured and ground to an even chip field that takes a knock without showing a patch and can be repolished in place. The run was cut from a single pour, so the aggregate carries around the return without a break.

The reception counter places the terrazzo beside terracotta walls and copper shelving. In this setting the aggregate is seen at close range, across the counter face and its return. The photograph records that relationship, rather than using a floor image to stand in for the supplied piece.
When specifying a similar counter, send a drawing of the full run, returns and edges as well as the finish you want to sample. A terrazzo code identifies the surface; it does not by itself describe the shape of the finished counter. Confirm those details together before a quotation is prepared.
