Delfrio
Palladiana terrazzo at Delfrio in Karachi, made as 24 by 48 inch tiles with chunks of grey basalt, locally known as silbatta. The project photographs show the irregular basalt field through the entrance and circulation spaces.
- Location
- Karachi
- Material
- 24" x 48" tiles with chunks of grey basalt (silbatta)
- Category
- Palladiana terrazzo
The project photographs follow the Palladiana floor from the entrance to the fluted reception counter and the green tiled wall. Close views record the irregular grey basalt pieces within the tile; wider views show the same material continuing through the interior. This is a tile installation, with the format recorded above, rather than a seamless poured floor.
For a similar floor, discuss the stone pieces, base colour, tile layout and junctions with counters or thresholds before approving a sample. Send the drawing and area with the reference finish so the quotation can distinguish the material from the installation work. The Palladiana page explains the tile and poured options for other projects.
